Extension Care Guide
Mahai Hair Co. Extension Care Guide
Our raw luxury extensions are crafted from 100% single-donor hair. With the right routine, your extensions will maintain their natural shine, softness, and longevity for years to come.
1. Washing
- When: Wash every 1–2 weeks, depending on usage and styling products applied.
- What to use: Gentle, sulfate-free and alcohol-free shampoo to prevent dryness.
2. Conditioning
- Use a moisturizing conditioner to keep hair smooth and frizz-free.
- Rinse thoroughly with cold water.
3. Drying
Best: Air-dry extensions flat on a clean towel.
4. Styling
- Always apply a heat protectant before styling.
- Limit daily heat styling to preserve the raw texture.
5. Storage
- Keep extensions in a silk or satin bag in a cool, dry space when not using.
- Lightly braid or twist before storing to avoid tangles.
6. Detangling
- Start at the ends with a wide-tooth comb or detangling brush.
- Use a light moisturizing mist to make detangling easier.
7. Protection
- Sleep in a silk or satin scarf or bonnet.
- A silk or satin pillowcase is a great alternative for those who don’t like their hair covered at bedtime.
8. Product Buildup
- Use a clarifying shampoo once a month to refresh.
- Avoid heavy oils or products that weigh the hair down.
9. Maintenance
- Trim ends every 6–8 weeks for a fresh look.
- Schedule professional maintenance for long-lasting wear.
Mahai Tip: Treat your extensions like your crown — with the same love and care you give your natural hair.
